Improve Your Galaxy S III's Battery Life

Though It's Not Bad

The Smartphone coming up nowadays aren't good, when we talk about the battery life.
The advent of technology have brought a lot of advancements to our mobile devices and almost everything you could do on a computer, you can already do on a smartphone. However, this comes at a price – the battery life of smartphones today gets drained easily. You should consider yourself lucky if you are able to go through a day without having to run to the nearest wall outlet to charge your handset.

With big displays and a lot of connectivity options available, smartphones have become battery hogs. This is especially true with the Samsung Galaxy S III from Verizon. And when your handset is taking advantage of the LTE network of the wireless provider, its battery gets drained faster compared to when it is simply in 2G or 3G mode. It gets worse in the case of Verizon because your Samsung Galaxy S III has to have its connection to both the CDMA and LTE networks of the carrier. And it is a given fact that the CDMA radio of the Samsung Galaxy S III drains battery even faster because calls and texts go through it. Sad to say, there is no toggle to have the handset’s LTE connectivity switched off. You can only opt to switch it to eHRPD when using data and doing so is very cumbersome.

However, there is one nifty, little application that you can install on your Samsung Galaxy S III to take get through this easily and in the process extend the battery life of your handset. It is called Phone Info and it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store with no charges whatsoever. Once installed on your Samsung Galaxy S III, the Phone Info application gives you the option to set your preferred network type from the Phone Information tab. With this in play, you can already select CDMA Auto (PRL) from the preferred network listing and once done, your Samsung Galaxy S III will only connect to the 3G network of Verizon. Once you need to use data, all you have to do is select LTE for the whole duration you need it and just go back to CDMA Auto (PRL) once done. This process is guaranteed to make the battery life of your Samsung Galaxy S III last longer.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S III, this is the best Smartphone among its competitors in the market today and it already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset in its internals while its dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor works in tandem with 2GB of RAM to give the handset a flawless performance. Storage space on the handset comes up to 16GB but you have the option to have this expanded to as much as 64GB. The display of the handset is a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.  You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S III starting at $119.
Go for it. It's a great buy!
